Evans: Piddington “has spoken for Britain” — stop the boats

The ballot in Piddington, a village near Bicester with around 350 residents, saw approximately 92% turnout. Residents voted overwhelmingly on a symbolic question regarding self-determination in protest against a Home Office plan to house up to 1,256 male asylum seekers at nearby MoD Bicester.

Evans highlighted comments from parish vice-chair Susannah Parden, describing Piddington as “the village that roars.” He argued that authorities have allowed too many migrants to enter the UK illegally, leading to a tipping point where communities refuse to bear the impact.
