Nigel Farage’s top aide has been cleared in a probe over Channel 4 allegations as Reform UK threatens legal action against the television report that made claims against two senior officials. The party is moving to challenge the broadcast that targeted its senior figures and left the aide facing scrutiny that has now ended without finding against him. Reform UK made plain it will not let the matter rest after the clearance. The party is preparing papers to take the broadcaster to task for the report that levelled allegations at two of its senior officials.
That step follows the internal look into the claims which has now cleared Farage’s top aide and removed the cloud that hung over him from the moment the programme aired. The Daily Express first carried the news of the clearance and the legal threat that came with it. Party figures see the outcome as proof the original report went too far and failed to stand up once examined properly. They insist the aide did nothing wrong and that the two senior officials named in the piece deserve the same clean bill once the full process runs its course.
Farage’s circle has treated the probe as a necessary check rather than an admission of fault. The clearance for his top aide closes one chapter while opening another in the courts. Reform UK wants the broadcaster held to account for putting allegations on air that did not survive closer inspection. The party says the public deserves straight reporting, not claims that collapse under basic examination.
The television report had put two senior officials in the frame and drawn Farage’s closest aide into the same storm. That aide is now clear. Reform UK is turning the focus onto the programme makers and the decision to run the piece. Legal action is the next move, and the party shows no sign of softening.
It wants the record set straight and the methods that produced the allegations put under proper light. Supporters of the party view the clearance as overdue common sense.
