Reform UK MP Sarah Pochin has issued a brutal takedown of Andy Burnham after the Prime Minister unveiled plans to drag Britain back into the European Union.
Speaking to GB News, Pochin warned Burnham could “take us back into the EU without the will of the British people behind him” – branding the move an “utter betrayal of democracy”.
Pochin confronted Burnham over his blatant Makerfield lie.
“I’ve got a quote here, he said in that Makerfield by-election, ‘I am not proposing the UK considers rejoining the EU’. So what we’ve just witnessed there is a completely disingenuous Prime Minister who promised one thing only eight weeks ago and is now saying something else,” Pochin told GB News Political Editor Christopher Hope.
The Prime Minister had earlier confirmed the UK could REJOIN the EU, saying completely undoing Brexit is an option he will consider.
Burnham told the People’s Channel: “We’ll look at all options. George Osborne’s put an option forward, Canada have talked about a different relationship with the European Union.
“I can’t leave Britain out of those discussions. We do have to have an honest and grown-up conversation about well, what could a future relationship look like?”
Pochin was having none of it.
“That would be an utter betrayal of democracy. Because we voted out and we have never, ever made the most of being out of Europe, because the politicians will not enact all the good things that we could have,” she blasted.
The Reform UK MP for Runcorn and Helsby then destroyed the economic case for rejoining.
“The point that must be made is, why would we want to go back in? The growth rate in Germany is lower than us, the growth rate in France is lower than us,” Pochin said.
“Those key countries, Germany itself, now with its potential change of government potentially, will look at coming out itself. There’s no EU at all without Germany.”
“This is a completely ridiculous situation now where why would we want to rejoin something that actually is not performing as well as the UK is after Brexit?”
Pochin revealed Burnham’s real motive – panic over the collapse of the Labour working class vote to Reform UK.
“What I do think is that Burnham is fully aware now that the traditional Labour working class vote, hard working people, alarm clock Britain as we call them, are very much looking to Reform now to place their vote,” Pochin explained.
“And I think Andy Burnham is very aware that he has to look elsewhere to shore up his Labour vote, and that is why he is taking in that middle Liberal, very left Labour like, say, rejoining the EU.”
The intervention comes as Burnham has said Britain should weigh EU options, including rejoining the bloc, despite telling GB News he is considering rejoining EU as PM makes major Brexit U-turn just 125 days after denying it.
Pochin also linked the EU rejoin plot to Labour’s surrender on borders and national security, pointing to Foreign Secretary “glad-handing the Iranian Foreign Secretary” just as RAF Fairford faced an unexplained threat.
Sarah Pochin has become one of Reform UK’s most vocal defenders of Brexit since winning Runcorn and Helsby, and is seen as a rising star under Nigel Farage’s leadership.

Since the 2016 referendum, Britain’s economy has grown by 12.4 per cent, outperforming Germany’s 6 per cent and Italy’s 9.7 per cent. France only marginally beat the UK at 12.7 per cent, suggesting that the “financial apocalypse” predicted by Remainers has not materialised.
The EU’s share of global GDP has shrunk from 17 per cent in 2016 to 13 per cent today, making it a “shrinking force” that Britain should not hitch itself to.
UK exported £385 billion of goods to the EU in 2025, up from £249 billion in 2016. Furthermore, Britain has secured new trade agreements with nations like Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Singapore, and joined the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), none of which “dictate our laws in return.”
None of which we could do if in the EU.
Brexit gave us back our sovereign right to create new laws to defend our borders and overseas territories, the uniparty squandered it.
Add to that the fact the EU are going to use EU citizens bank savings to try to save their industry and are about to launch the Central Bank Digital Euro tells you we shouldn’t touch them with a barge pole.
I won’t even mention the EU Digital ID.
