White people are being systematically shut out of taxpayer-funded jobseeker schemes across Britain. These programmes, exclusively available to ethnic minorities, have been branded an example of “two-tier” Britain at a time when youth unemployment is a national crisis.

Across the nation, councils and authorities are implementing employment initiatives that explicitly exclude white British citizens. This divisive, race-based approach is being funded by public money, sparking outrage and raising serious questions about fairness and equality in the UK.

Taxpayer Funds Diverted to Exclusive Schemes

In Sheffield, the Labour and Green-led city council operates a “pathways to work programme” offering “targeted employment support for ethnic minority groups”. This £340,000 project, run by local charities, aims to help “economically inactive” minorities find jobs.

The scheme receives part-funding from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) through its “Economic Inactivity Trailblazer” and the £2.6 billion UK Shared Prosperity Fund, provided by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). These funds are intended for “levelling up” projects across the country.

Greater Manchester’s “Culturally Appropriate” Exclusion

Andy Burnham’s Greater Manchester Combined Authority also receives ring-fenced grants for projects providing “culturally appropriate employability support”. This includes CV workshops and mentoring specifically for black and minority ethnic people in Oldham.

The DWP has previously operated schemes exclusively for non-white jobseekers, including “mentoring circles” and the “Moving on Up initiative”. These efforts aimed to tackle unemployment, with rates among ethnic minorities at 8.8 per cent, compared to 4.3 per cent among white people.

Critics Condemn “Two-Tier” Britain

Taxpayers should not be funding schemes that exclude people because of their race. Race-based eligibility smacks of identity politics and a two-tier system, which undermines public confidence in the system. Ministers should end these discriminatory programmes and ensure taxpayer-funded support is open to all jobseekers who need it.

— William Yarwood, Campaigns Director, Taxpayers Alliance

William Yarwood’s comments highlight the deep concern that public money is being used to create a segregated system. Critics argue that such policies erode trust in public institutions and foster division, rather than unity, within British society.

These schemes were a divisive, race-based, segregationist plan for social in-cohesion.

— Alka Sehgal Cuthbert, Director, Don’t Divide Us

Alka Sehgal Cuthbert’s stark assessment underscores the damaging nature of these initiatives. The focus on race-based eligibility is seen as actively undermining social cohesion, creating a fragmented approach to employment support rather than a unified one for all citizens.

Key Facts Exposed

  • White people are explicitly excluded from several taxpayer-funded jobseeker schemes nationwide.
  • Sheffield City Council operates a £340,000 project offering “targeted employment support for ethnic minority groups” only.
  • Greater Manchester Combined Authority uses ring-fenced grants for “culturally appropriate employability support” for black and minority ethnic people.
  • These schemes are part-funded by the DWP and the £2.6 billion UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
  • Critics label these initiatives as “two-tier” Britain and “divisive, race-based, segregationist.”

What This Means for Britain

This systematic exclusion means that if you are a young white Briton struggling to find work, your own taxes are being used to fund schemes that you are barred from accessing. While you stare down the barrel of an unemployment crisis, others are given exclusive pathways, paid for by your contributions.

Economically, this creates an uneven playing field, potentially leaving a significant portion of the workforce behind. It diverts resources from universal solutions that could benefit all jobseekers, impacting overall economic recovery and productivity.

Politically, this represents a betrayal of the principle of equality and fairness. It exposes a pattern of identity politics infiltrating public services, undermining the trust that all citizens should expect equal treatment from their government and local authorities.

If this continues, Britain risks becoming a nation divided by policy, where opportunity is dictated by race rather than merit or need. This is a dangerous path that threatens the very fabric of our society and the future of our youth.

This must be seen by every British voter. Demand answers from your MP. Share if you believe Britain deserves better than a two-tier system.
