Sir Keir Starmer has admitted he inadvertently misled Parliament over Lord Mandelson’s failed security vetting – but Downing Street insists he did not “knowingly” lie and he will not resign.

Starmer to Make Statement at 3.30pm

The Prime Minister will address the Commons at 3.30pm today in what has been described as “judgment day” for his premiership. No 10 said he will acknowledge that the House should have been given the information earlier but will deny knowingly misleading MPs or the public.

Badenoch: National Security Scandal

Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has launched a fierce attack, saying the scandal is a matter of national security and more serious than Boris Johnson’s Partygate. She said Starmer’s first instinct has been to “evade, deflect and cover up”.
