Summary: A new YouGov poll shows Reform UK leading both Labour and the Conservatives, undercutting claims of a Conservative recovery and exposing growing voter anger with the political establishment. Former Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf says the numbers prove attempts to dismiss Reform’s rise have failed. The figures raise an uncomfortable question for Westminster: if neither main party is trusted, who is Britain actually voting for now.
Reform Leads as Main Parties Stall
According to a YouGov Westminster voting intention poll conducted on 8 and 9 February 2026, Reform UK sits on 27 per cent. Labour trails on 19 per cent, with the Conservatives further behind on 18 per cent.
The figures were highlighted by Zia Yusuf, former Reform UK chairman, who accused the political and media establishment of trying and failing to manufacture a so-called Kemi bounce for the Conservatives.
Even YouGov, which Reform figures argue has historically understated their support, places Reform nine points ahead of the Conservatives. That alone should set off alarm bells across Westminster.
Have your sayTap to commentThe Collapse of the Two Party Illusion
For decades, British politics has been sold as a choice between two parties. This poll suggests that illusion is breaking down fast. Labour’s support remains stuck below 20 per cent despite holding power, while the Conservatives appear unable to recover from years of betrayal, broken promises, and internal chaos.
The Greens and Liberal Democrats together now command almost a third of the vote, fragmenting the left, while Reform continues to hoover up working-class voters who feel ignored, talked down to, or taken for granted.
This is not a protest blip. It reflects something deeper. People are not drifting between parties. They are walking away from them.
Media Denial and Political Self Interest
Zia Yusuf’s intervention cuts to the heart of the issue. Large parts of the political class would rather pretend Reform’s rise is artificial than admit they caused it.
The Conservatives talk about renewal while offering the same faces, the same excuses, and the same globalist instincts. Labour talks about stability while presiding over rising costs, weak borders, and constant U-turns.
Neither wants to ask why millions of voters no longer trust them with the basics.
The Elephant in the Room
The uncomfortable truth is this. Reform is not rising because of clever branding or media hype. It is rising because millions of people believe the system is rigged against them.
When voters see Labour and the Conservatives arguing over process while living standards fall, public services creak, and immigration remains out of control, they look for an alternative.
This poll does not just embarrass the main parties. It exposes a political class increasingly detached from the country it claims to govern.
