Nigel Farage has warned that the mother of Henry Nowak’s murderer is set for early release this December under Labour, barely a third of the way through her sentence.
Writing on X, Farage called the move an insult to decency. Kiran Kaur was jailed for three years at Southampton Crown Court in July for assisting an offender. On the night of the murder on December 3 2025 she took the knife used by her son Vickrum Digwa back to the family home. Digwa received a life sentence with a minimum term of 21 years on June 1 for killing the 18-year-old finance student after falsely claiming racial abuse.
The Standard reports that Kaur, an Indian national, could serve less than half her term and walk free around the anniversary of Mr Nowak’s death under the Government’s early release scheme. She is also appealing her sentence, with a Court of Appeal hearing fixed for November 5. Time already spent on remand was counted when the three-year term was imposed.
Farage insists she should serve every day of that sentence and then be deported. The Home Office has signalled she could qualify for the deportation scheme for foreign criminals, stating it will always seek to remove such offenders at the first opportunity while its thoughts remain with Henry Nowak’s family.
Ministers defend the wider early release programme as essential to stop the justice system collapsing. Thousands of prisoners are due out in stages over the coming year after earlier interventions that exempted rapists and the most serious child sex offenders. Hundreds have already been freed in recent weeks. Farage’s plain demand is that a woman who disposed of a murder weapon does not cut her time short on Labour’s watch.
