Labour has sent an urgent request to members to donate money after claiming Reform UK received seventy-two million pounds in donations within twenty-four hours, according to GB News Politics.
The governing party has launched an emergency fundraising drive, asking supporters to chip in small amounts starting at three pounds up to ten pounds each. According to GB News, the party claims these funds are vital to help Labour fight back against Nigel Farage and Reform UK.
In messaging sent directly to party members, leadership branded Mr Farage’s political messaging as divisive. The correspondence stated that the opposition party’s recent financial influx has to be treated as a major call to action for the Labour movement.
The communication emphasised the unprecedented nature of the political financial landscape, noting in the text that this has never happened before in British politics.
Party officials hope that mobilising their grassroots base for minor financial contributions will help counter the substantial monetary backing reported by their rivals in Westminster.
