The women of Piddington have demanded answers from female MPs in an open letter amid fears of being outnumbered ten to one by asylum seekers, according to GB News. Plans have been drawn up to house up to 1,250 single adult male asylum seekers at a former military site near the village, which is home to just 350 people.

Residents in the Oxfordshire village have voiced intense frustration over proposals to utilize the former Ministry of Defence site near Bicester for asylum accommodation. GB News reports that local mother Andrea Owen warned the community feels completely ignored, stating that the British way of life is being ripped away by sweeping dispersal policies.

The site, originally earmarked to house around 1,250 migrants, has triggered fierce local backlash due to the stark disproportion between the incoming population and the tiny local headcount. Villagers argue that neither local infrastructure nor local safety considerations have been adequately factored into the government’s plans.

The British traditions and the British way of life are just being ripped away.

Government representatives have defended the wider strategy, insisting that moving asylum seekers out of hotels and into ex-military sites forms a central part of ongoing immigration reforms. Officials maintain that overall asylum accommodation costs have fallen since the government took office.

  • Piddington has a local population of roughly 350 residents.
  • Proposed MoD site near Bicester targeted to hold up to 1,250 single male asylum seekers.
  • Residents have written an urgent open letter to female MPs demanding accountability.

The Home Office asserts that community concerns are being addressed through ongoing dialogue with local authorities, though residents continue to demand direct answers regarding local safety and infrastructure capacity.
