Reform Launches Campaign To Oust Sadiq Khan

Reform UK has officially launched a high-stakes campaign to unseat London Mayor Sadiq Khan ahead of the 2028 election, citing mounting public frustration over local taxation and crime rates. According to the Daily Express, the political battle lines are already hardening across the capital.

The Labour politician, who secured a comfortable victory against the Conservatives’ Susan Hall in 2024, is widely expected to seek a fourth term in office. However, recent polling data indicates that his path to retaining City Hall may face unprecedented hurdles from opposition challengers seeking to capitalise on voter discontent.

A recent Savanta poll conducted for Queen Mary University of London places the Labour Party on 33 percent of the vote share for the upcoming mayoral contest. Crucially, Reform UK has surged into second place on 20 percent, followed by the Conservative Party on 18 percent, the Green Party on 14 percent, and the Liberal Democrats on 10 percent.

Laila Cunningham, Reform’s designated candidate for the 2028 mayoral race, launched a blistering critique of the incumbent administration, pointing to twelve years of entrenched policies under the current leadership.
