Zero female Labour MPs reply to women over male migrant camp

Mothers from a small Oxfordshire village facing a camp of 1,250 male migrants have declared they should not have to beg for support as zero female Labour MPs respond to their pleas, according to the Daily Express.

The tiny village of Piddington, home to just 350 people including 133 women and 46 children, is locked in a battle against Home Office plans to transform a neighbouring former Ministry of Defence site into an asylum facility. Residents say the facility would leave local women heavily outnumbered and fearful for their security.

In response to the mounting crisis, a campaign group known as the Women of Piddington wrote an open letter and released a video message addressed to all female MPs in Parliament. However, according to reports, not a single female Labour MP has acknowledged or responded to the plea.

Conservative MP Joy Morrissey also condemned the lack of engagement from the governing party, noting that residents had no say in whether their small community could absorb over a thousand single men.

Speaking to the Women of Piddington today, what struck me was how frightened they are. Nobody asked these women whether their village could safely absorb well over a thousand unaccompanied men, and nobody has answered them since.
