West Midlands Police face renewed accusations of “two-tier justice” after a white man was arrested for assaulting an officer, despite social media videos appearing to show him being assaulted by a group of black men moments prior. The incident has ignited public fury and calls for full footage release from Reform UK.
The controversy surrounds an incident on June 21st, where a white man was filmed being arrested after a physical altercation. Videos circulating on X show the man being pushed to the ground and an attempt made to punch him in the back of the head by individuals identified as black men, before a female officer intervened.
Police Actions Under Scrutiny
The footage shows the white man being pushed into shop shutters by a female police officer. He then appears to swing his arms, striking the officer in the head. West Midlands Police confirmed the arrest of Cody Harper, 20, at 1:30 AM on June 21st, charging him with assaulting a police officer.
Harper is scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on July 23rd. The force initially resisted calls to release full footage, but has since acknowledged an assault on the arrested man took place.
Reform UK Condemns “Unequal Treatment”
If there’s additional footage that explains why the officer acted as she did it should be shared immediately to clear things up. Otherwise the public will rightly question the clear unequal treatment by the police. The police have lost the benefit of the doubt in the eyes of many. They’ve had enough of two-tier policing. Reform UK is the only party consistently calling this nonsense out and has the people to fix it.
— Robert Jenrick, Reform UK Treasury Spokesman
Robert Jenrick’s strong condemnation highlights a growing public distrust in policing. His statement underscores the belief that the police are applying different standards of justice, eroding public confidence and demanding immediate transparency.

What This Means for Britain
This incident strikes at the heart of public trust in law enforcement. When ordinary citizens witness what appears to be unequal treatment, it undermines the very foundation of justice. For working families, this erodes the belief that the police will protect them fairly, regardless of circumstance.
Economically, a breakdown in public order and trust can deter investment and create an unstable environment. Businesses rely on a predictable and fair legal system; perceived biases only add to uncertainty, impacting jobs and the cost of living.
Politically, this incident reinforces a worrying pattern of perceived establishment failure and broken promises. It fuels the narrative that the system is not working for everyone, leading to calls for fundamental reform and accountability from those in power.
The stakes are incredibly high. If this pattern of perceived “two-tier policing” continues, it risks fracturing society further, eroding the rule of law, and leaving citizens feeling unprotected and unheard. Every British voter must demand answers NOW.
Demand answers from your MP. This must be seen by every British voter who believes in fair justice for all.
