Reform UK MP Lee Anderson has defended his explosive Commons accusation that Sir Keir Starmer has been lying over the Mandelson vetting scandal, telling Sky News his inbox is “full of people” saying the Prime Minister is misleading Parliament and the public.
Anderson Refuses to Back Down
After being ordered out of the Commons for declaring “That man couldn’t lie straight in bed”, Anderson told Mark Austin: “My inbox is full of people absolutely furious with our Prime Minister. They’re saying that he’s lying, he’s misleading the British public, he’s misleading Parliament.”
“The Buck Stops With the Prime Minister”
Anderson pointed to the Independent newspaper report from seven or eight months ago revealing Mandelson had failed vetting: “Are you seriously telling me that the Prime Minister, his staff, his advisors, none of his MPs read that newspaper on that day?”
He added: “The buck stops with the Prime Minister. If people aren’t telling him, then he’s in the wrong job.”
“Everybody Knows Peter Mandelson Is a Wrong”
Anderson slammed the appointment: “Everybody in this country… knows that Peter Mandelson is a wrong and nobody would employ this man anywhere. This man, our Prime Minister gave him a job.”

Reform UK: Starmer Has Lost All Credibility
Reform UK has led calls for Starmer’s resignation from the start of the Mandelson scandal. Nigel Farage said Starmer is either a liar or a puppet. Lee Anderson’s outspoken intervention shows Reform is the only party prepared to tell the truth in Parliament.
What This Means for Britain
While families face £2,000 energy bills and record small boat crossings, the Prime Minister is consumed by a national security scandal of his own making. Lee Anderson spoke for millions when he said the public no longer believes Starmer.
Reform UK’s message is clear: Britain needs honest leadership that puts British interests first. With local elections weeks away, voters can reject Labour’s chaos and back the only party that will deliver real accountability and strong borders.
